Our jobs and careers in the working world have enabled us to live a good life, but we pay a price for it. The workload and responsibilities we take upon at the office would often leave us stressed out and feeling the mental burden. Even after we leave the office, we are constantly in touch with our work through the telecommunication devices the wonderful world of technology has provided us. Our hand phones, pagers, e-mails and Blackberry keeps us worrying and working all day long, even at home. Because of this, we are facing our mental breaking point from the constant bothering.
We don not realize how lucky we are, since the best mental pressure reliever is just around us. All you have to do is look around you and see the green natural environment earth has provided for us. For the young people it might sound like what your parents do, but once you would try it you realize how soothing and relaxing the natural environment can be.
First, you must be willing to take the time to drink in nature and all its beauty. Often, we feel overwhelmed by commitments-so overwhelmed, in fact, that we become guilty if we take time out for ourselves. However, if we are to successfully combat stress, we absolutely must reserve time for stress-relief, and nature can be one of the best stress relievers available.
For countries which have the four seasons in the year, they will find that each season has their own ways of helping people overcome their stress. When autumn season arrives, we enjoy the different colors of leaves on the trees which provide us with vibrant and colorful shades. Imagine you are walking along the road, gazing at the leaves falling from the trees, while your ears listen to the crunching sound that your every step makes when you step on the leaves, and the warm color of the skies then. When we are in this scenery, we are able to keep our minds relaxed and be more prepared to face the difficulties in our lives.
When Autumn time passes and the cold season of winter arrives, we can take short walks along the pathway filled with snow, watching as each and every small snow flakes fall gentle to the ground. The cold wind and low temperature is sure to keep us awake and alert. When we are fighting against the cold weather to keep ourselves warm, you are reminding yourself of your own braveness, and that would keep our pressure level down.
After winter leaves and spring time finally comes, we can see the real colorful side of Mother Nature. Everywhere we can feel and smell the scent of the early blooming flowers in the garden, how beautiful is the flowers and plants which survived the harsh conditions of winter, and also the wonderful music that the birds are creating above the trees. Just by looking at the spring scenery can leave you refreshed again.
When the lovely time of summer finally arrives, this is the time to enjoy the warm and cheerful atmosphere that the season brings. Bask in the smell of freshly cut grass just after you spent hours mowing it clean and feast your eyes on the trees waving happily to the cooling summer breeze. You can get yourself a tan by lying under the sun for a while, or enjoy a cooling summer shower right after doing some work outside your house. When this time of the year comes, you can lose yourself in the relaxing world just after you leave the house for a few minutes.
If you are looking for some sort of physical activity to engage in, then you can always try hiking where you will be able to get up close and personal with the very elements of nature. If hiking is not your thing, then you can try skiing during the snowy days of winter. Or if you prefer the warm weather of summer, then you can start a fun game of Frisbee with your close ones where you get to have fun and keep your mind away from the workplace. Mother Nature has such a natural gift to help people clear their minds, so when you get involved with the outdoors, you are prepping yourself to temporarily forget your troubles and responsibilities.
Gardening has become more and more popular among the working people thanks to its ability to help people relax and ease their mind. When you are working to plant the lovely plants, trying to clear the grass away from stealing nutrition, and other garden activities your mind is focusing on the tasks ahead, and not the workplace. Many people are taking up gardening as a hobby because it helps keep them focused. Tasks such as mowing and cleaning the lawn from the dead leaves, or clearing the snow during the Winter days can keep you occupied and stop worrying about work and home troubles, therefore providing our minds with some time to rest.
You may be so inspired by nature that you write poetry about the things you see and hear. Such writing can be tremendously cathartic, especially when undertaken outdoors. Lying in a chaise lounge under a tree, composing sonnets about flowers, can get your creative juices flowing-and lower your stress level in the process.
People, especially the working bunch, would be extremely surprised with the results once they embrace their natural loving side once again. Our senses, especially the sight, hearing, and smell would reawaken once we get in touch with Mother Nature. The wonderful and natural world of the environment would certainly be a nice change from the constant noise blaring from the stereos and the television. If you never see yourself as a nature enthusiast, you can still spend short period of time away from work and go outdoors. When your mind is full of vibrant and positive thoughts you find yourself more capable of handling the tasks and problems you are suppose to solve. Just think of taking some time off to enjoy the outdoors as a short holiday break period for yourself.
