Maybe you want to lose weight fast, but just keep in mind that diets, such as the 7 day weight loss plan, are not always recommended by specialists. You might have to attend a party in two weeks and therefore you need to lose some pounds fast. On top of that, you’ve also been picturing yourself in that new white dress at the store.
Well, I guess in that case you could consider a 7 day diet plan to lose between 11 and 16 pounds in just seven days. So why don’t Dietitians recommend it? Let me explain why it’s not such as a good idea other than being simply unhealthy.
You’re Training Your Body to Burn Fat Slowly
Let’s say you decide to go on a quick fix weight loss plan such as the 7 day diet plan. It then tells you to eat approximately 1000 calories per day. It’s not recommended to eat that amount of calories. It’s simply not enough. You are then teaching your body to burn that amount of calories. Your metabolism adapts to your lifestyle even in just a few days. A human body is actually so amazing. It goes into “survival mode” where it starts to reserve as much resources as possible.
Your body will still run as normal for the first few days and burn 2500 calories according to your normal diet. Therefore you’ll lose weight. But when it senses the dramatic drop in food consumption, it shifts to that survival mode.
After you’ve completed the quick fix 7 day weight loss program you’ll probably go back to your old routine with 2500 calories per day. Now, your body is still in its “survival mode” when you follow your old routines. In other words, you’ve trained your body to burn around 1100 calories per day and you’re now providing it with 2500 calories per day. That is an extra 1400 calories your body will store as fat. Not only will you gain back your weight but you’ll also gain more weight than before. The body takes longer to increase its metabolism as for it to slow down.
What Do You Suggest Then?
The 7 day diet plan is not all that bad. It helps to clean your body and get all those toxins out. I don’t recommend following it if your main goal is to lose weight. Rather speak to your doctor so that he can recommend a long-term plan for sustained weight loss and overall health. If you must go to that wedding or reunion then you might be willing to take the fall. Just remember that you won’t be able to jump back to your old eating habits.
